In the centre of the Gorge is the Big Dipper rapid, situated at the foot of the cliff-face, as the river bends left sharply. Enter the rapid down the chicken run on the right , and then be ready to turn with the water as the river takes two two turns to the left over rocky shelves. It is great fun at any level, and can whip up some big waves in full conditions.
